Every itinerary here is built on the same idea: a single base in Castelo de Vide, the birds of two landscapes — the sierra and the plains — and the human history woven through each day. You bird the cool hours and read the country in the warm ones; you sleep each night in a medieval town and wake an hour or less from everything.
